Camden Hardy is a photographic artist currently living and producing work in Tucson, AZ. He works primarily with large format cameras and alternative photographic processes as a means of meditative contemplation throughout the art-making experience.
Camden is fascinated with how and why objects are placed in man-made spaces, as well as what this placement can say about those involved in the alteration of the landscape.
Photography offers an opportunity to capture things as they are to create an accurate visual document of space, but its ability to convey truth is limited by the camera operator's interests. Camden takes advantage of this somewhat contradictory existence while employing the medium to explore the social relations that manifest themselves in the altered landscape.
Camden received his B.A. in Media & Theatre Arts, Photography option from Montana State University - Bozeman in May 2007. As of September 2009 he is working toward his MFA in Studio Art at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
